I believe that everyone is different and should use tools that life provides to find the path that is best for them. I do not advocate a specific diet but rather a lifestyle of healthy living and primarily a plantbased diet.
I have gone through a long journey fighting for my health and sanity. Most of my childhood years were full of life and good health. But my high school years brought challenges and perhaps this is where problems began. Not addressed, they proceeded into my college years.
In college, my health challenges continued and even worsened. I thought I was doing all the right things to have the best health, but instead I battled with:
- relentless skin, hair and nail issues
- back pain
- exhaustion and fatigue
- foggy brain
- learning difficulty
Later on I discovered that maybe what I thought was the “perfect diet” and lifestyle was actually causing many problems.
I saw many different doctors and they all gave me suggestions, which I tried but had no significant benefit. In addition I was not keen on taking a handful of pills three times a day. There HAD to be a different way to fix the issues I was facing. I was not going to live in suffering or stress anymore. I decided to take matters into my own hands. Nutrition and health of the body became increasingly interesting to me, especially a diet enabling the body to be at full potential. How can I use food as medicine?
Food as medicine was a new concept to me. I knew that you should eat your veggies but I didn’t realize the extreme impact foods have on the body. Now I was not just preparing food to receive energy to struggle through the day but to heal the body I had been beating on for so long.
The Journey is still not complete because I learn new things everyday. I know now how eating and treating your body well can have a massive impact on your life. I strive for excellence everyday and I am fully committed to helping people reach their goals and full potential.
